Piensa en Paharganj, el mercado que nunca duerme, que se hace tu amigo, que te apuñala cuando te das la vuelta. No parece que haya el más mínimo orden en los flujos que lo rigen, en el tráfico que te sepulta bajo charcos, barro, frutas y telas. Paharganj es un laberinto donde los muros están vivos, te venden mercancías, tratan de sacarte los cuartos.
No es un todo, pero actúa como un todo. La mano invisible los pone de acuerdo para que acabes haciendo lo que cinco minutos antes te han aconsejado que no hagas. La experiencia es un muro contra sus taimados habitantes, y como tal, será bordeada o derribada. La resistencia es inútil, la inercia del Paharganj hace que cualquier negociación acabe en fracaso para el novato y en un buen intento para el versado.
Caos e inercia, las dos fuerzas que parecen mover este barrio, esta ciudad y este país.
